This module helps migrate content moderation configurations from the Workbench Moderation module to Drupal core's Content Moderation and Workflows modules. It automates the creation of workflows, states, and transitions, and associates content with the new moderation system. Administrators will need to manually update any views filters and may need to re-implement custom moderation state behaviors.

Goal

wbm2cm_workflow_scaffold
Creates one empty workflow per signature bucket (type: content_moderation). Largest bucket claims editorial; the rest get editorial_1, editorial_2, …

wbm2cm_workflow_states
Writes each WM ModerationState into every workflow whose signature contains it.

wbm2cm_workflow_transitions
Writes each WM ModerationStateTransition into every workflow whose signature contains BOTH endpoints, coalescing transitions that share a target state into a single CM transition with multiple from values.

wbm2cm_workflow_entity_types
Opts every WM-enabled bundle into its signature's workflow (triggers CM to attach its moderation_state field).

wbm2cm_content_moderation_state
For every revision of every moderated entity, creates a matching ContentModerationState attached to the workflow the revision's bundle belongs to.

What it does NOT do
Left to the admin on purpose:
- View filter swap. Views using WM's
Latest revisionfilter
need to be updated to CM'sModeration statefilter. Edit the
affected views by hand. - Custom
ModerationStatesubclasses (sites that extended WM's
state plugin) have no CM analogue. The migration reads them as
plain states — additional custom behavior does not carry over.
