Features

What is the basic functionality?
This module is designed to monitor and interact with users within the framework of their tasks. Tasks can be assigned to you as well as by you.

  1. There is a detailed representation of the task list. In addition to displaying text information about tasks, preset filters are provided in the task list:
    1. My tasks,
    2. Tasks for my projects.
  2. Thoughtful graphic elements are provided in the form of special icons that show the status and priority of the task.
  3. It is possible to write “private” comments on tasks that are visible only to users with the “Employee” mark in the profile and are not visible to users without such a mark, for example, to customers.

What unique features does enabling this project add?
In any company, an employee does not work alone, there are always a number of employees who have their own tasks. In this regard, there is a need to keep a list of tasks that have been assigned to employees or assigned by employees.

This module is designed to organize a task list in which you can record not only the task itself but also a number of important parameters for it, such as:

  • status;
  • responsible;
  • priority;
  • category;
  • deadlines for completing the task, etc.

One of the unique features of the Trinion Tasks is that tasks are part of the Trinian ecosystem and the Drupal CMS ecosystem. That is, users of other Trinion modules can simultaneously be users of the Trinian Taskbook (be responsible for the task and the creators of the task).

Thus, in the Trinion Tasks, you can set tasks with links to objects within the entire Drupal (and, accordingly, other Trinion modules). For example, if we want to process a Lead from Trinion CRM, then we create a task in which we specify a link to this Lead, select the responsible employee and this employee, having received the task, can easily go to the right Lead to process it.

Trinion Tasks can work with e-mail

  1. Create a task based on an email.
  2. Create comments on a task from an email. It works as follows: The user received an e-mail from the Trinion Tasks, where the task number is indicated in the subject line. Next, the User responds to this email without changing the task number in the subject of the email, and a comment will be automatically created based on it in the task. You can simply specify the task number in the subject line, then send it and the Trinion Tasks will also automatically create a comment on the task.

When and why would someone use this module?
If you are a freelancer, programmer and want to keep track of tasks in Drupal, then this module is for you.

What use cases are there?

  1. As a Standalone, just as a task management module.
  2. As a module within the framework of setting tasks in the modules of Trinion and other Drupal content types. You can either specify a link to the task in the object itself, or specify a link to the material in the task.

Post-Installation

How does this module actually work once I install it?
This module must be configured as follows:

  1. Fill in the necessary directories (Create a list of projects, a list of categories, statuses)
  2. If you accept tasks by e-mail, then you need to make e-mail settings for incoming emails so that the Trinion Tasks can create tasks and comments on them based on incoming emails.
  3. If you plan to send emails from the Trinion Tasks (sending changes to the task, comments, new tasks), then you must also set up an e-mail for outgoing emails.

Should I go to a config page?
Yes, you need to make the following settings:

  1. E-mail settings (in conjunction with the Trinion Mail module)
  2. Access Rights Settings
  3. It is necessary to specify the address of the site where the Trinion Tasks module is installed so that the link to the task is correctly formed in automatic emails from Trinion Tasks.

Should I look for a new content type?
Yes, there is a new content type - Task, as well as new taxonomies:

  1. List of projects
  2. List of categories
  3. List of statuses
  4. Priority list

Additional Requirements

Does this project need anything beyond Drupal core?

Yes, in order for the module to work with e-mail (sending and receiving emails, automatic creation of tasks and comments based on e-mail), you need to install the Trinion Mail module.

Recommended modules/libraries

Are there any projects that enhance or improve the functionality of this project?

The Trinion Mail module.

How it works

The algorithm is simple:

  1. The user creates a Task, it can be created manually or automatically from an e-mail.
  2. The user works with the task - leaves comments, sets statuses, priorities, appoints those responsible for the task, and so on.
  3. The user closes the task.
