Entityqueue Form Order lets editors put content in an Entityqueue and choose its position, without leaving the node form.
With Entityqueue alone, featuring an article means saving it, opening the queue's page, adding the article there and dragging it into place. This module brings all of that into the node add and edit forms. Editors check the queues the content belongs in, see the items already in each one, and drag the content to its place before saving.
Features
- A Queues section in the node form sidebar, with a checkbox for each queue that accepts the content type.
- Checking a queue shows the items already in it, with this content in bold. Drag it, or any other item, to set the order. Show row weights lets editors set positions with numbers instead.
- Saving the content adds it to the checked queues, removes it from the unchecked ones, and saves each queue in the order shown.
- New content starts where Entityqueue would add it: at the top of a reversed queue, at the bottom of any other.
- Only published content is added to a queue. A new draft stays out; a draft of published content keeps its place.
- Full queues show a disabled checkbox, with a link to the queue's page to remove an item first. Queues set to act as a queue say which item saving will drop.
- Safe with several editors at once: items others add to or remove from a queue while the form is open are kept as they are.
- Works with simple queues and with queues that have several subqueues.
Post-Installation
There are no settings. After enabling the module:
- Create a queue at Structure » Entityqueues that targets content, and choose the content types it accepts.
- Give editors the Update {queue} entityqueue permission for that queue, or Manipulate all entityqueues.
- Add or edit content of one of those types, and open Queues in the sidebar.
Additional Requirements
- Drupal 11.1 or later
- Entityqueue 1.13 or later
Good to know
- The list shows every item in the queue. For queues with hundreds of items, set a maximum size on the queue, or order it on the queue's own page.
- Don't combine it with another module that also adds queue checkboxes to the node form: editors would see each queue twice.
