Information About Versions

Droopler 5 – This version is a clean starting point for your Drupal project. It comes with a custom theme and helpful recipes but doesn’t include extra custom code. Once your site is built on Droopler 5+, you only need to update Drupal core and modules, without worrying about separate distribution updates or tricky dependency issues. Droopler 5.x removes the common distribution headaches, so you can focus on building great content and improve your website!
• Droopler 3 (Supported) – Supported with security fixes and maintenance updates.
• Droopler 4 (No Longer in Active Development) – Existing projects can still use it, but new features won’t be added.

Custom Bootstrap 5 theme

SCSS included and all variables and settings can be easily adjusted to suit your needs. We really went head over heels to make this customizable.

We use the Paragraphs module to build out the pages. In the installation, you get one content type with various paragraphs (banner, feature list, text with an image on the site, headline text with background image and many more) all themed and working out of the box.

Multilanguage support

Two languages enabled by default for a demonstration with options to remove them/add more as with any multilingual Drupal site.

Installation

To install Droopler locally you need DDEV installed on your machine.

FAQ

How to update Droopler 5.0.0 to 5.0.5 (or any other update from 5.x.x to 5.y.y)?

Droopler 5 is a starter kit. This means the Droopler code is only used during the initial creation of a new website from scratch. During installation, the theme files and configuration (saved in Recipes) are copied into your project. After this, you work with the site as if it were a standard Drupal installation with a custom theme based on Radix and configuration you would set up manually.
There is no distribution update process as it existed in version 3.x.
You can attempt to manually copy the updated theme files from the Droopler 5.x branch repository and reapply the latest Recipes. However, we cannot guarantee that this process will work successfully.

Can I update Droopler 3.x to 5.x?

There is no direct upgrade path available. In the future, we may consider creating a dedicated MigrateAPI module to facilitate content migration to the new structure. However, the theme would still need to be created manually from scratch.
