ZebChat - Live Chat For Websites

No security coverage Drupal 10–11
View on drupal.org

ZebChat adds a live chat button to your Drupal site so visitors can talk to your team while they browse. There is no embed code to copy: sign in to ZebChat (or create a free account) from the module's settings page, pick the website, and turn the chat on. Your team answers from the ZebChat web dashboard or the iOS and Android apps.

Features

  • Live chat widget on every public page; administration pages stay clear.
  • Sign in, choose the site and switch the chat on or off from Drupal; no code to paste or theme to edit.
  • See who is on the site right now and which pages they are viewing.
  • Pre-chat and offline forms, office hours and a waiting line with estimated wait times.
  • Optional AI assistant that answers from your own knowledge base with your own Claude or OpenAI key, and hands over to a person when needed.
  • Mobile apps for iOS and Android with push notifications, so chats are not missed away from the desk.
  • Widget in seven languages (English, Hindi, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, French, German), right to left for Arabic.
  • Visitor consent options for regions that need them.

Use it to answer sales questions while visitors are deciding, support customers without email back and forth, or collect messages when nobody is online.

Post-Installation

  1. Give the Manage ZebChat permission to the roles that should set up the chat (People » Permissions).
  2. Go to Configuration » Web services » ZebChat (/admin/config/services/zebchat).
  3. Sign in or create an account, pick the website for this site and turn the chat on.

Appearance, office hours, forms, routing and the AI assistant are set in the ZebChat dashboard. The sign-in tokens are kept in Drupal state, so they are not exported with configuration.

Additional Requirements

Drupal 10 or 11 and a ZebChat account (the free plan is enough to start; the module can create one). No other modules or libraries are needed.

None required.

Similar projects

Other live chat modules usually ask you to paste an embed code or widget ID into the settings. ZebChat connects through a sign-in, lets you turn the chat on and off from Drupal, and includes mobile apps and a bring-your-own-key AI assistant.
