Drupal Vue Admin Platform
Drupal Vue Admin Platform provides a generic Vue 3 application layer for Drupal administration. It allows modules to opt specific administrative pages into Vue-native interfaces while preserving Drupal as the authority for routing, access control, permissions, data, business logic, and classic rendering.
The project is designed for progressively enhanced administration interfaces rather than replacing Drupal's rendering system. Normal Drupal and contributed-module pages continue to use Drupal/Twig, while explicitly registered application pages can use Vue.
Features
- Vue 3 and TypeScript application runtime for Drupal administration.
- Opt-in registry for Vue-native administrative pages.
- Drupal-authoritative routing, controller execution, permissions, and access checks.
- Coexistence between Vue-native pages and normal Drupal/Twig administration pages.
- Classic Drupal fallback when Vue is disabled, unavailable, or fails to load.
- Shared, namespaced Vue runtime for contributed integrations.
- Same-origin SDK boundary and CSRF-aware Drupal integration.
- Support for both Drupal core Navigation and Toolbar through the companion Drupal Vue Admin theme.
- Compiled runtime assets are included in releases; Node.js is not required on production sites.
- Optional generic demo/reference module for developers evaluating the platform.

Post-installation
This module provides the application platform and developer APIs. For the complete administration interface, install the companion Drupal Vue Admin theme and select it as the site's administration theme.
Modules can then register selected administrative pages as Vue-native applications. Pages that are not registered continue to render through Drupal normally.
The project is currently in alpha. Its page-registry, SDK, and component integration APIs may change before a stable release.
Additional requirements
- Drupal 11.4 or later.
- PHP 8.3 or later.
Node.js is required only for frontend development and rebuilding the Vue assets. It is not required to install or run a packaged release on a Drupal site.
Recommended modules/libraries
The companion Drupal Vue Admin administration theme provides the intended user interface and adapters for Drupal core Navigation and Toolbar.
Architecture
Drupal remains responsible for routes, permissions, entities, Form API, backend services, business logic, and classic rendering. Vue owns only explicitly registered application roots.
The original Drupal controller remains authoritative. Responses such as redirects, downloads, JSON responses, access denials, AJAX requests, and other non-page responses are preserved rather than replaced with a Vue application.
Current status
This is an alpha project. APIs are not yet stable, and the project does not currently claim Drupal Security Advisory coverage.
Source code, frontend build instructions, architecture documentation, third-party dependency information, and contribution guidelines are included with the project.
