Views Board (Kanban)

A Views style plugin that renders the rows of any View as cards in columns, with optional swimlanes. Cards move by drag and drop or from a keyboard-accessible "Move…" menu, and every move is saved through the normal entity save.

Status

Under active development. The first version is being built and used on an internal project management site, and its code will land on the 1.0.x branch once it passes its tests. The first tagged release follows after about a month of real use, when the event API has settled.

Planned features

• Works on any SQL-based View: filters, contextual filters and exposed forms come from the View itself.
• Columns from a taxonomy term reference, list_* or state field. Optional swimlanes from any single-value field, and optional manual ordering through a weight field.
• Moves are POST requests with a CSRF token, checked against entity update access, field edit access and entity validation before saving.
• BoardMoveEvent PRE (can veto a move) and POST events, so a site adds its own rules and notifications.
• Keyboard and screen reader support: a visible "Move…" menu on every card, announcements through Drupal.announce(), and undo.
• Drag and drop with core's core/sortable library. No jQuery, no Bootstrap, theme independent.
• Collapsible columns, soft WIP limits and optional column totals.
