Varbase AI Readable Base

Makes a site readable by AI tools. It serves /llms.txt, built from the site name, slogan, main menu and footer menu, and a Markdown version of every content item and taxonomy term, at <path>.md or for a request sent with Accept: text/markdown. The HTML pages are unchanged.

The recipe installs llms.txt and Markdownify with its path and file attachment submodules, both stable and covered by the security advisory policy. Pages render to Markdown without the page layout, Markdown answers carry X-Robots-Tag: noindex, and SEO and site admins can edit the llms.txt content.

On a site with Fast 404, which answers every *.txt path with a 404 before Drupal routes it, /llms.txt needs one line in settings.php to let it through.

Best used with Varbase Starter site template.

Can be installed with any Drupal CMS ~2.0 or Drupal Core ~11 site. Even if installed with the Minimal or Standard profile.

However, using it with Varbase gives you way much more cool stuff!
