Lets external AI assistants read the site and draft blog posts and pages over the Model Context Protocol: an MCP server on /mcp, secured with OAuth 2.1, with eight read tools and four draft-writing tools. Nothing it writes is ever published; publishing stays a human action in Drupal.
The recipe installs MCP Server with its Tool Bridge and OAuth support, Simple OAuth with OAuth 2.1 discovery metadata, mandatory S256 PKCE and dynamic client registration, Tool API and Tool Belt. It adds mcp:read and mcp:write scopes, a publish scope that no token can carry, and an mcp_agent role limited to creating and editing its own drafts in the editorial workflow. Edits to a published item are saved as a pending revision, so the live version stays unchanged.
The MCP stack has no stable release yet, so this is experimental.
Best used with Varbase Starter site template.
Can be installed with any Drupal CMS ~2.0 or Drupal Core ~11 site. Even if installed with the Minimal or Standard profile.
However, using it with Varbase gives you way much more cool stuff!
