Overview

Triage Core is the application theme for LocalGovMail Triage. It provides both
a modern Drupal user interface and a full-screen operational workspace for staff
managing incoming mail and AI-assisted triage workflows.

Unlike a traditional Drupal theme, Triage Core combines a complete visual design
system, reusable Drupal components, responsive layouts, and a React-powered
staff application within a single integrated experience.

The theme provides a comprehensive presentation layer for Drupal, including:

The built-in React application provides an operational workspace for users
responsible for reviewing and processing incoming messages.

AI-generated summaries and recommendations.
Review of processing activity and decision traces.

Drupal continues to manage routing, authentication, permissions, and translations.

Communication occurs through Drupal-managed JSON endpoints.
Permissions and security remain enforced by Drupal.

Intended Use

Triage Core was developed specifically for LocalGovMail Triage and similar
service-management applications where staff need to process, review, and act on
large volumes of incoming correspondence.

The theme is best suited to organisations that require a combination of:

Development

The project uses Node.js tooling for asset compilation and formatting. Source
assets are built into production-ready CSS and JavaScript bundles for Drupal to
serve.

After making changes to templates, components, regions, or theme libraries,
Drupal caches should be rebuilt.

Important Notes

This theme was designed as the primary application theme for the LocalGovMail Triage platform.
It does not currently provide a stable sub-theme API.
Customisation is intended through direct modification and rebuilding of the theme.
