This module replaces Drupal's default timezone selection with an interactive world map that allows users to click on a region to select their timezone. It also supports browser-based geolocation to automatically detect the user's timezone.
Timezone Picker replaces Drupal’s standard timezone select with an accessible,
interactive SVG world map. It is available on the site Regional settings page
and user profile timezone fields.

- Keyboard-accessible selection, hover and selected states.
- Optional HTML5 geolocation detection (requires HTTPS and browser permission).
- Configurable map colors for ocean, land, hover, selected timezone and borders.
- Works alongside the standard timezone select, including as an accessible fallback for small islands.
- No JavaScript dependencies or external downloads required at runtime.
Requirements:
- Drupal 11 or 12.
- HTTPS is required only for browser geolocation detection.
The module’s front-end is maintained as modern JavaScript and distributed with
compiled assets. Node.js is required only when developing or rebuilding those assets.
The SVG map geometry originated from the
original Timezone Picker project,
which has been modernized for current Drupal versions.
