Set a default publishing status for new taxonomy terms in each Drupal vocabulary, so editors can create terms as published or unpublished without changing every term manually.
Features
Taxonomy Publishing Options adds a per-vocabulary default publication setting for Drupal taxonomy terms.
- Configure whether new terms in each vocabulary are published or unpublished by default.
- Use different publication defaults for different vocabularies.
- Keep the standard taxonomy term publication control available to editors.
- Apply the default only to newly created terms.
- Leave existing terms unchanged when the vocabulary setting is updated.
- Preserve Drupal's native vocabulary revision setting and form handling.
This module is useful when a Drupal site uses different editorial workflows for different vocabularies. For example, a site may want terms in a public-facing vocabulary to be published immediately, while terms in an internal or editorial vocabulary should remain unpublished until they have been reviewed.
Post-Installation
After enabling the module, go to Structure → Taxonomy and edit the vocabulary whose default publication status you want to configure.
In the vocabulary form, locate the Publishing options section and enable the Published option if new terms in that vocabulary should be published by default. Save the vocabulary configuration afterwards.
The configured value is stored independently for each vocabulary. When an editor creates a new term, the term's publication status is preselected according to the vocabulary setting. Editors can still change the status before saving the term.
If no setting has been configured, new terms are unpublished by default. Changing the setting does not modify the publication status of existing terms.
