The Suggest Similar Titles module helps prevent duplicate content by comparing node titles of the same content type as you create or edit a node. When you enter a title, the module checks for existing titles in the database and suggests potential duplicates based on a configurable similarity percentage. This ensures admins and users can avoid unintentional content duplication on your site.
Key Features
- Content Type Flexibility: Enable the feature for any content type(s) of your choice.
- Customizable Matching: Set a percentage threshold to determine how closely titles must match to be considered similar (e.g., 75% similarity).
- Ignore Keywords: Specify keywords to exclude from title comparisons.
- Suggestion Limits: Control the maximum number of similar titles displayed as suggestions.
- Permission Awareness: Choose whether the module should respect node permissions when displaying suggestions.
- Display Options: Position suggestions either above or below the title field for optimal user experience.
- Themable Output: Use the provided template file to customize the appearance of suggested titles to match your site’s design.
Configuration
The module includes a dedicated settings page where you can:
- Enable or disable the feature for specific content types.
- Add keywords to ignore during title comparisons.
- Set the maximum number of suggestions to display.
- Configure whether node permissions should be considered.
- Adjust the similarity percentage threshold.
