Simplify adding videos and other rich media by inserting URL using oEmbed technology.
You can put oEmbed supported URL in contents on its own line and it will automatically turn into a video or media. If not recognized, the URL will display as is.
8.x-2.x
Version 2.x supports Drupal core's oEmbed support in Media module, which is a dependency. Now, you can add any oEmbed supported URLs without configuration.
8.x-1.x
Version 1.x was a port of 7.x version and had a limited list of service support, which can be extended by the site admin.

see ALTERNATIVE PROVIDERS section in README. You will need to copy the corresponding line, and add it to the "Providers" field at /admin/config/content/formats. You can also add your own provider.

Supported domains are:
youtube.com, blip.tv, vimeo.com dailymotion.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, hulu.com, viddler.com, qik, revision3.com photobucket.com, scribd.com wordpress.tv, polldaddy.com, funnyordie.com, twitter.com, and slideshare.net
Additionally, google maps and google docs (document and spreadsheet) are supported as well if not using oEmbed.
The module was developed to mimic what WordPress does out of the box. It is designed to work with minimal configuration.
