This module simplifies embedding rich media like videos into your content. Simply paste a URL on its own line, and it will automatically transform into the media player if the URL is supported. Newer versions leverage Drupal core's oEmbed support to seamlessly embed content from a wide range of services without requiring manual configuration.

You can put oEmbed supported URL in contents on its own line and it will automatically turn into a video or media. If not recognized, the URL will display as is.
8.x-2.x
Version 2.x supports Drupal core's oEmbed support in Media module, which is a dependency. Now, you can add any oEmbed supported URLs without configuration.
8.x-1.x
Version 1.x was a port of 7.x version and had a limited list of service support, which can be extended by the site admin.

Additionally, google maps and google docs (document and spreadsheet) are supported as well if not using oEmbed.
The module was developed to mimic what WordPress does out of the box. It is designed to work with minimal configuration.
