Smart Menu Links are the navigational complement to views with contextual filter (arguments) from path tokens. For example, if your site displays events, and you have views with contextual filters to display the sessions for each events, the sponsors, and so on, this module allows you to create a single menu item for each view, that will preserve the contextual argument between listings views.

Features

Specify which part of the path to draw from, what entity type and bundle to validate against, and more.

This module also allows you to optionally specify one or more workflow states on the referenced entity in which the menu link will appear. This allows you to dynamically link to different information for your entities during their life cycle.

Post-Installation

After installing this module, you can define Smart Menu Links in the Structure menu. Note that there are some circumstances in which a cache clear may be required in order for the link to appear, particularly after a new link is added. We hope to resolve this in a coming release.

Additional Requirements

This module does require Pathauto, but otherwise only relies on Drupal core.

This module was built to support the Drupal Event Platform
