Required by publish state

This module allows fields to only be required when their associated entity reaches a certain publish state. For example, you could keep a certain field optional while editors are working on a draft and mark it as required when they are marking the entity as ready for review, or when they try to publish the entity themselves.

Post-Installation

After installing the module, visit the edit form of the field you want to change and under 'Choose a required strategy' choose 'Required by publish state'. Afterwards, you can choose whether the field should be required when the entity is Published or Unpublished.
