The Require Revision module offers a centralized configuration interface for managing revision requirements across various entity types. Administrators can specify which block types, content types, and taxonomy vocabularies are required to create new revisions when edited. Additionally, they can choose to require revision log messages for these entities. The module tracks and records all edits to blocks, nodes, and terms, ensuring transparency throughout the content workflow.

Features

  • The settings page is organized into three collapsible sections:
    1. Block Types: Configure revision requirements for custom block types
    2. Content Types: Configure revision requirements for node content types
    3. Taxonomy Vocabularies: Configure revision requirements for taxonomy terms
  • Conditional field behavior - require revision log options only available when revision is required
  • "Select all" functionality for quick configuration
  • New content creation is not affected - revision requirements only apply when editing existing content

How to use

  1. Install and enable the Require Revision module
  2. Go to the settings page: Configuration > Content authoring > Require Revision
  3. Select entity types: Expand the section (Block Types, Content Types, or Taxonomy Vocabularies)
  4. Check the boxes under "Requiring revisions" for the types you want to enforce
  5. (Optional) Check boxes under "Requiring revision log messages" to make log messages mandatory
  6. Save configuration
