This module overwrites the sidebar item "Redirect URL" provided by the Redirect module. Whilst the" Redirect as an Entity"-approach of the Redirect module is good, the sidebar it provides can be confusing for content managers. We found content editors liked the approach of the Rabbit Hole redirect more. That's why we created this module: provide the simpler redirect UI of Rabbit Hole with the power of Redirect's entities in the back.

Features

Replaces the sidebar provided by the Redirect module, allowing content managers to redirect the page they are editing:

  • Creates a new redirect entity from the page the content editor is editing to a configurable destination.
  • Allows editor to edit the redirect from the current node to a different location.
  • If the node is translatable, the redirect will only be created for the specific node translation.
  • When the field is cleared on the node edit page, the linked URL redirect will be removed.

Requirements

This module relies on the Redirect module (version 1.12 and above). For support for older versions of Redirect, see #3574881

Configuration

  • Enable this module.
  • Go to the "Manage form display"-page on the content type where you want to allow redirecting from the sidebar.
  • Make sure the "URL redirects (url_redirects)" field is not disabled.
  • The new sidebar element should now be visible on the node edit page for that content type.
  • There are settings available on /admin/config/search/redirect/widget
