PX AI Search — Managed Solr Search

Connect Drupal 10 and 11 to PX’s hosted Apache Solr search service without managing your own Solr server. Synchronize public content through XML and add a Drupal search block.

This module connects to the PX service, not directly to an arbitrary Solr server. It is an independent integration and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Apache Software Foundation.

PX AI Search connects your Drupal website to a dedicated hosted search service. Choose your content types, synchronize updates through Drupal cron, and display results inside your site. Built for Drupal agencies and site owners.

Early-access pilot: An approved PX account and search project are required. Confirm access before installing. The current implementation provides basic text search; semantic retrieval and advanced AI features are not included. PX AI Search is the product name.

Features

• Hosted indexing and search: no search server to install on your Drupal hosting.

• XML export of node identifiers, titles, canonical URLs, language identifiers and accessible body text from the default translation.
• Cron-driven queued updates and removal requests. Failed deliveries remain queued for retry.
• Export limited to published nodes accessible to anonymous visitors at synchronization time.
• Server-side indexing credentials, stored in Drupal state rather than configuration exports.
• Basic text matching, including prefix matching on title terms.
• Compatibility tested on Drupal 10.6 and Drupal 11.4.

Post-installation

1. Obtain pilot approval, a project ID and API keys from PX.
2. Install and enable the module.
3. Open /admin/config/search/px-ai-search.
4. Enter https://px.ua, your project ID, public key and indexing secret. Custom service hosts are not supported.
5. Select content types, request an initial rescan and run Drupal cron regularly.
6. Place the PX AI Search block and test the results.

The registered domain must match exported canonical URLs and the results page host. Larger sites require multiple cron runs for initial indexing. The connector does not automatically replace Drupal core search.

Requirements

Drupal 10 or 11, the Node module, PHP SimpleXML support, outbound HTTPS access, regular cron execution and an approved PX search project.

External service and data handling

This connector requires the external PX search service; it is not a standalone search engine. Downloading the module does not grant service access. A commercial subscription is planned; pilot access is granted individually. Confirm current availability and terms with PX.

Selected content and document identifiers are sent to PX for indexing. Search terms are sent from your Drupal server to PX for results. Requests include project credentials and normal connection metadata. Public content may contain personal information: review exported data and explain external processing to users. Protect your Drupal database and backups, which contain the indexing secret.

Public content only: Not suitable for private documents or role-dependent search. Synchronization is asynchronous; removal is not immediate. Request a rescan after access-policy changes. Do not use this pilot where delayed removal creates an unacceptable privacy or access-control risk.

Current limitations and roadmap

The pilot indexes nodes and their default translations. It is not a backend plugin for the contributed Search API module and does not yet export Drupal Commerce products or variations natively. Typo tolerance, synonyms, autocomplete, semantic search, dedicated Ukrainian linguistic analysis, all-translation indexing, custom field mapping, product filters and analytics are not included.

Advanced search and product catalog integrations are planned, without committed delivery dates. The connector includes an English interface and a bundled Ukrainian translation. Search requests have local abuse limits; results are restricted to the same HTTPS origin.
