Path Alias Collision Guard
This module prevents duplicate or nearly duplicate URL aliases from being created, ensuring SEO-friendly and unique paths. It also provides an audit report to identify existing alias issues.
Path Alias Collision Guard helps keep URL aliases unique and SEO-safe. It stops new colliding or near-duplicate aliases when they are saved and gives administrators tools to find existing problems after migrations, bulk imports, or Pathauto runs.
What it does
- Blocks collisions on save — validation runs for aliases created or updated via the UI, REST/API, Pathauto, and Migrate.
- Normalizes aliases for comparison — trims whitespace, collapses duplicate slashes, and supports optional case-insensitive matching so
/Aboutand/aboutcan be treated as duplicates when configured. - Audit report — review grouped collisions in the admin UI.
- Drush integration —
drush path-alias-collision-guard:auditfor scripts and CI; exits with code1when collision groups exist.
