Provenance Activity Log

The Provenance Activity Log records site activity as W3C PROV documents backed by queryable tables. For any entity it answers: which events did it go through, who performed them, and which other entities changed in the same events.

What it records

• One activity per operation. A node save that cascades into paragraphs, a path alias and a redirect is one row with four participants.
• Who performed each activity and who it was done for, its outcome (completed, completed with errors, or failed, with the exception), and keeps a PROV document with the labels of everything it mentions as they were at the time, so renaming or deleting an entity later leaves the record intact.
• Entity and configuration changes, configuration imports, cron and queue runs, recipe applies, and commands run with Drush or core's dr.
• Integrations with Workspaces, Trash, Scheduler, Group, Pathauto, Redirect, Entity Clone, Masquerade, ECA, Webform and AI Agents. An AI agent run is one activity, attributed to the agent acting for the person who started it.

The report

Reports » Activity log lists activities with filters for type, performer, user, outcome, date, workspace, group, language, job and participating entity. A row expands to a flow graph, its participants and the PROV document, and any entity's history opens in a side panel. Five read-only Tool API plugins give programs and AI agents the same data.

• PHP 8.4 and Drupal 11.4 or later.

Status

Alpha. The API and the storage format can still change between releases, and there is no update path between alphas.
