Mercury Editor provides an alternative content authoring experience that replaces Drupal's default forms with a live, interactive preview. It functions as a page builder, allowing content creators to use a drag-and-drop interface with pre-built templates and components to create custom layouts. This WYSIWYG approach ensures content creators can build visually compelling pages efficiently while adhering to design guidelines.

Mercury Editor™ offers an alternative content authoring experience and page builder, replacing the “Add Content” and “Edit Content” forms in Drupal. With Mercury, the content edit form is moved into a resizable offcanvas tray along the right side of the screen, and a live, interactive preview is rendered on the left. Any Layout Paragraphs fields enabled for a content type will be rendered in the “Builder” mode – providing a what-you-see-is-what-you-get page builder for content creators.

Part of the Mercury Editor™ ecosystem

Mercury Editor is the flagship of the Mercury Editor ecosystem. Mercury Editor empowers content editors to create custom layouts in seconds with an easy-to-use Drupal page builder.

Mercury Editor™ Features

  • Create complex layouts in seconds with Mercury’s easy-to-use page builder.
  • Drag-and-drop custom components to build flexible, visually compelling landing pages.
  • Allow content authors to select pre-built templates, enhancing the efficiency of the page building experience for non-technical users.
  • Instantly preview your work for mobile and tablet devices.
  • Control which components can be used in specific contexts, ensuring content authors work within established design and editorial guidelines.
  • Unlike many of its competitors, Mercury Editor is free software with no licensing or ongoing subscription costs.

Getting Started

  • Important! Follow the Getting Started instructions at Layout Paragraphs to enable drag-and-drop behavior for Paragraphs fields on your content types.
  • Enable the Mercury Editor module.
  • Go to Mercury Editor Settings (Administration > Configuration > Mercury Editor settings).
  • Select the content/entity types with which you want to use Mercury Editor. Save the configuration.
  • Mercury Editor should now be enabled for your entity types, and any Layout Paragraphs fields will display in Mercury’s WYSIWYG preview pane!
