This module extends the Media Remote module to support remote HLS video from any server. Most modules that support remote video only support specific platforms, not generic URLs.

This is able to stream from any server, such as AWS MediaLive (optionally through Cloudfront) or your own HLS server as long as the URL ends in .m3u8.

Post-Installation

  • Add a Media Type with the "Remote Media URL" as the Media Source
  • Bring up the "Manage display" for the new media type.
  • Select "Media Remote - HLS" as the formatter.

Additional Requirements

The 1.0.0 version only supports VideoJS as the video player with the default skin. Future versions will support more skins and players. (Patches welcome!)
