This module enhances Drupal's Layout Builder by allowing users to select specific block types directly from the layout interface, improving the workflow for adding content blocks. It offers two convenient selection methods: a drop-button pre-selecting the most common block type or a button that reveals an inline list of available blocks.

The Layout Builder Direct Add module provides options select content block types from within the layout. This replaces the core Layout Builder "Add block" link. Options include:

  • Drop-button with the first block as the default option with the rest of the blocks displayed when you click the down arrow (similar to Paragraphs button option).
  • Button to display an inline tray with a list of links.

Clicking on the link for a block type will take you directly to the add form for that block type. The "More..." link is included as the last item in the list and clicking on it opens the normal "Add block" sidebar.
