This module allows you to add custom backgrounds, such as images and solid colors, to any section within Drupal's Layout Builder. It works directly with existing layouts without requiring modifications, making it compatible with various custom and contributed layout systems.

Similar Modules
Several modules provide related or similar functionality but take different approaches.
- Layout BG works by using a new background region in layout plugins, but requires modification of all layouts to work. Layout Builder Backgrounds does not require any modification of existing layouts, and is therefore compatible out-of-the-box with existing custom layouts, or other modules that provide Layouts (such as Bootstrap Layouts).
- Layout Builder Styles allows the selection of pre-defined styles (CSS classes and templates) for Layout Builder blocks and sections. These classes can then be used with theme-specified CSS. In contrast, Layout Builder Backgrounds does not require predefined styles and allows site builders to add and edit unique backgrounds (on-the-fly) for any layout section.
