This module provides a way for developers to easily add visual effects from the jQuery UI library to their Drupal site. It serves as a utility, enabling other modules to integrate these effects without needing to directly manage the jQuery UI assets.

A wrapper module around the jQuery UI effects library that lets module developers add swooshy, swishy effects to their code.

See http://jqueryui.com/demos for some examples of what jQuery UI can do.
See http://jqueryui.com/docs for documentation on how to use it.
See http://jqueryui.com/support if you need help getting jQuery UI to work, once it's being added to your pages.

This is a utility module that won't do anything on its own. See README.txt for how your module can use it to add jQuery UI effects to your pages.

Drupal 7+

Since Drupal 7 ships with jQuery UI, the jQuery UI module has been deprecated and moved to the jQuery Update module.

Drupal 8

jQuery UI was added to Drupal core in 2009, but jQuery UI has been minimally maintained since 2017 and listed as an Emeritus project in https://openjsf.org/projects/ which is described as:

Emeritus projects are those which the maintainers feel have reached or are nearing end-of-life

jQuery UI is deprecated in Drupal core and considered internal from Drupal 9.

This contrib project now has an 8.x branch to provide the asset libraries which are no longer provided as an API by Drupal core .

The individual jQuery UI asset libraries are provided in separate modules.
