The JapaneseEraFormatter module enhances Drupal by providing a custom date formatter that converts Western calendar dates into the Japanese era format. This is especially useful for sites that need to display dates in the traditional Japanese calendar style. With this module, users can easily integrate Japanese era date formatting into their Drupal sites.

Features

The JapaneseEraFormatter module allows site administrators to apply Japanese era date formatting to any 「datetime」 field within Drupal. Key features include:

  • Automatic conversion of date fields to the corresponding Japanese era.
  • Customizable date format options to display the era in a preferred manner.
  • Support for all modern Japanese eras (Meiji, Taisho, Showa, Heisei, Reiwa).
  • Automatic conversion of date fields to the corresponding Japanese era.

This module is perfect for websites related to Japanese culture, history, or businesses operating in Japan that need to use local time reckoning for events, archives, and publications.

Post-Installation

After installing the JapaneseEraFormatter, you will find the format options under the field settings for any date field:

  1. Navigate to the "Manage Display" page of target entity-type.
  2. Edit the settings for any date field.
  3. Select "Japanese Era Date Format" from the format options.
  4. Configure the format according to your needs and save the settings.

Additional Requirements

The JapaneseEraFormatter module works with Drupal core and does not require any additional modules or libraries to function.
