Image Style Scheme
This module adds an image style effect that allows you to specify a different destination filesystem for image derivatives. This lets you save derived images to public storage, even if the original image is private, which can improve performance and simplify access control. It supports using any available file scheme for flexible storage options.

By default, Drupal's derivatives use the same file system as the original image. If you upload a photo to an image field that is set to use the private file system, all image style derivatives will also be private, and you'll need to customize access control for them.
But your other image style effects may sufficiently protect the image: perhaps your style reduces resolution and adds a watermark. In these instances, you can use this module to export those safe derivatives to the public file system, which is much faster and easier to use.
Supports using any available file scheme, so you could possibly also save public files to private derivatives, or any files to s3, for instance.
