iDigit Saudi Government Design System (iDigit Gov)

iDigit Gov is an Arabic-first, bilingual Drupal theme and design system for building Saudi government websites and digital services. It implements the design foundations, components and page patterns of the Saudi Digital Government Authority (DGA) Platforms Code as a Drupal theme.

It is a community contribution by iDigit. It is not an official DGA product, is not endorsed by DGA and is not certified by DGA.

What the theme does

• Presentation only: installing it creates no content types, menus or configuration beyond core's block placement for a new theme.
• Arabic (RTL) and English (LTR) from the same templates and CSS; IBM Plex Sans Arabic bundled (SIL OFL 1.1).
• Design tokens for color, typography, spacing, radius, and shadow; two color schemes (green, white, and gray), each with light and dark mode.
• 19 regions (top bar, header, hero, content, sidebars, content-after, feedback strip, four footer columns, footer bottom).
• Components as Drupal single-directory components, with templates for header, navigation, drawer, breadcrumb, footer, buttons, tags, cards, tabs, accordion, pagination, notifications, and form elements.

Optional companion packages
A distribution profile (idigit_gov_portal) and nine modules (idigit_gov_blocks, _content, _sitemap, _feedback, _consent, _chatbot, _webform, _styleguide, _demo_content) are developed alongside the theme. The theme works without them. They are not yet published as separate Drupal.org projects.

Requirements

• Drupal core ^11.3. Tested on 11.4 with PHP 8.4. Other core versions have not been tested.
• No contrib dependencies for the theme.

Installation

composer require 'drupal/idigit_gov:^1.0@alpha'
drush theme:install idigit_gov
drush config:set system.theme default idigit_gov

Place blocks into the theme regions. See the documentation in the repository (docs/install.md and docs/install.ar.md).

Quality evidence so far
Automated checks on the 1.0.x branch pass: PHPCS (Drupal, DrupalPractice), PHPStan level 5, PHPUnit, ESLint, Stylelint and CSpell. Earlier axe-core runs reported 0 violations across 24 page, width, language and scheme combinations. This is automated evidence only: there has been no manual screen-reader audit and no formal WCAG conformance claim is made.
