Adds the Holy Grail AI chat assistant to your Drupal site and tells Holy Grail when your content changes, so the assistant answers from the current version of your pages. Requires a Holy Grail account.
Features
- Chat widget on your pages. Enter your agent ID and the module adds the Holy Grail chat widget to every page except admin pages. Keep it off specific paths with wildcard patterns, or show it to logged-in users only.
- Content sync. When a node of a selected content type is created, updated or deleted, the module sends its URL to Holy Grail. Holy Grail then fetches the page and updates its index. Pages that embed a changed node, media item or taxonomy term are re-sent through a cron queue.
- Small payload. Only the page URL and the action are sent. Titles, body text and field values are not sent.
- Hooks for developers. Change or skip the URL that is sent, filter content types, override the agent ID per request, and opt in to media sync. See
holy_grail_chatbot.api.php.
Requirements
- Drupal 10.2 or newer, or Drupal 11.
- PHP 8.1 or newer.
- A Holy Grail account, for the agent ID and the webhook token. Sign up at holygrail.app.
No contributed modules are needed.
Installation and setup
composer require drupal/holy_grail_chatbot drush en holy_grail_chatbot
Go to Configuration → Web services → Holy Grail Chatbot (/admin/config/services/holy-grail-chatbot) and set:
- Agent ID: shows the chat widget.
- Webhook Endpoint and Authorization Token: needed for content sync.
- Content types to monitor: if you select none, all content types are synced.
The module sends nothing and shows nothing until you configure it.
Drush and cron: page URLs are built from the current request. Run drush with your site URL (drush --uri=https://www.example.com cron) or set uri in drush/drush.yml. Without it, the module sends no URLs and logs an error.
Third-party service and privacy
Holy Grail is a hosted service operated by Holy Grail GmbH, Germany. This module does not work without it.
- The chat widget script loads from
static.holygrail.app. Your visitors' browsers connect to Holy Grail directly, and chats are handled under Holy Grail's terms and privacy policy. - Content sync sends page URLs from your server to
my.holygrail.app. Holy Grail then fetches those pages like a visitor. URLs of unpublished nodes can also be sent. - The token is stored in the module's configuration. Override it in
settings.phpto keep it out of exported config.
