Features

• Download media from Hivo into Drupal — Choose assets from your Hivo library and add them to your Drupal media library so you can attach them to content, use in layouts, or manage them in Drupal.

• Upload existing Drupal media to Hivo — Send media that already lives in Drupal (images, videos, etc.) to your Hivo workspace so you can organize, reuse, or distribute them from Hivo.

• Embed Hivo media via CDN URL — Insert Hivo media into body text or other rich text fields using Hivo’s CDN URLs. CDN embedding must be enabled in your Hivo account for this to work.

Use cases:

• You keep photos and videos in Hivo and want to pull them into Drupal as media items for articles and pages.

• You have media in Drupal that you want to back up or reuse in Hivo (e.g. for other channels or teams).

• When writing content in the editor, you want to embed images or videos from Hivo so they are delivered via Hivo’s CDN (faster delivery, less load on Drupal).

Post-Installation

After enabling the module:

1. Go to Administration > Hivo Connector (/admin/hivo-connector) and login with your Hivo account.

2. To embed Hivo media in rich text, ensure CDN embedding is enabled in Hivo, then add the "Hivo" button to your text format at Administration > Configuration > Content authoring > Text formats and editors.

Additional Requirements

• Drupal core modules: File, Media, and CKEditor 5 (needed for the Hivo embed button in the editor).

• Drupal 9, 10, or 11 with PHP 8.0 or higher.

• A Hivo account.

• Embed via CDN: In Hivo, CDN embedding must be enabled for your account so that Hivo media can be embedded in Drupal using CDN URLs.
