GLightbox Media Remote Image displays remotely hosted images in modal windows, individually or as galleries that let visitors move between images on the same page.
It extends GLightbox with a field formatter for images provided by Media Remote Image.
Features

- Launch the lightbox from a remote image, local media thumbnail, custom text, or media title.
- Apply image styles to local media thumbnails.
- Group images into galleries by entity, page, field, or a custom value with tokens.
- Combine remote images, local images, and videos in the same gallery.
- Add long captions and HTML descriptions with tokens for attribution, licensing, and other metadata.
The module uses GLightbox's existing library, settings, and modal controls.
Post-Installation
- Open Structure → Media types → Manage display for a media type using the Remote image source.
- On the remote-image URL field, select the GLightbox Media Remote Image formatter.
- Configure the preview, gallery, and captions. Repeat for other view modes as needed.
Shared modal settings are available under Configuration → Media → GLightbox. Enabling this module does not change existing media or display settings.
Additional Requirements
- Drupal 10.3 or later in the 10.x series, or Drupal 11. Drupal 12 support is pending a compatible GLightbox release.
- GLightbox 1.0.20 or later in the 1.x series, with its JavaScript libraries installed.
- Media Remote Image 2.0.0-beta2 or later in the 2.x series.
Recommended modules/libraries
Token provides additional field tokens and a token browser for custom captions and gallery values.
