Frontend Editing
This module allows users to edit content directly on the website's frontend in a side panel. It provides real-time editing with immediate visual feedback and integrates directly with entity editing forms.
Frontend Editing module allows users to edit entities directly on the frontend through a side panel. Unlike other modules that depend on core features like Settings Tray, Contextual Links, or Quick Edit, this module is built as a lightweight integration.

- Real-time Editing:
Edit content directly in context with immediate visual feedback, updating content and experimenting with layouts, formats, and styles from the frontend interface in real time. - Frontend Link Integration:
Adds direct links to entity editing forms on the frontend and provides a sidebar for loading these forms as iframes, enhancing content editing efficiency. - Consistent Styling:
Editing on the frontend matches the styling of backend editing, ensuring a consistent editorial experience.
Requirements/ dependencies:
- For module version 1.2.0 and above, twig templates for entities edited with the Frontend Editing module should include the
{{ content.frontend_editing }}render element. If the template already uses{{ content }}, no changes are necessary. - In case the preview of the content changes are needed without actually saving the entity, consider installing "All entity preview" module. Frontend editing has full integration with preview that will help editors to see the changes before saving them inside frontend theme.
Fixes for possible issues/requests
As Frontend Editing integration for paragraphs depends on external module "Paragraphs Edit", not everything regarding paragraphs can be fixed within this module.
There are some known issues in upstream projects, that you might need to check if you have some problems:
- In case of problems with revisions attribution, please check this issues #2914976: Revisions log does not attribute author or timestamp correctly
- Maybe there are other issues, please check issue queue
