Forum Notifications Subscription

Overview

The Forum Notifications Subscription module helps site administrators to set up a notification process based on the forum module. It gives then site users the possibility to subscribe/unsubscribe to forum posts and comments.

The forum module uses taxonomy for containers and forums, node for forum topics and comments for replying to forum topics.

Features

• Subscription/unsubscription to forums.
• Subscription/unsubscription to forum topics.
• Email subject and body customization (with token replacement).
• Queues emails (for large notification lists).
• User notification frequency update (each user can update the notification frequencies of his subscriptions at the profile edit form).
• Notification frequency view (the module make available a view for the user to see their notification frequency: Frequency settings view; you can add it at the user profile display).

Module versions

The versions 1 and 2 have the same functionalities except that the Daily Digest frequency emails are different from the two versions. To move from 1 to 2 you just have to require version 2 and go update the settings form and save since there are new fields with this version.

• 1.x The Daily Digest emails are sent separately at the night for the same user.
• 2.x This version put together all the user Daily Digest emails and send them in a summarized single email

Note: The idea is to have all the other functionalities same so after more discussions and user interest we decide either to continue with version 2 or merge version 1 to 2.
