Field usage finder

Before changing or removing a field, you usually have to manually check
every content type, paragraph type, view, and layout to see what depends
on it. Field Usage Finder answers that question with a single click: it
scans your site's configuration and shows you exactly where a given
field is being used, so you can make changes with confidence instead of
guesswork.

Post-Installation

No configuration is required after installation. Once enabled, go to
Reports > Field Usage Finder (`/admin/reports/field-usage`), select a
field from the dropdown, and click "Find usages". Access to this page
requires the "Administer site configuration" permission.

Additional Requirements

None beyond Drupal core. The module relies only on core APIs (Field,
Config, and optionally Views and Layout Builder if those are enabled
on your site).

Recommended modules/libraries

No additional modules are required. If your site uses Layout Builder
or Views, Field Usage Finder will automatically include results from
both — no extra configuration needed.

Similar projects

Some contrib modules help identify unused fields or manage field
lifecycles from a different angle (e.g. flagging fields with no data).
Field Usage Finder is focused specifically on structural/configuration
usage (telling you which content types, views, and layouts reference
a field) rather than analyzing the data stored in it.
