field_formatter
Field Formatter module provides a collection of generic formatters for entity reference fields that output only a specific field of the referenced entity.
Formatters for entity reference fields:
Field formatter with inline settings (field_formatter_with_inline_settings)
Configure the field formatter individually to render one field of the referenced entity selectively with the same settings available like in its own entity.
Usage example: Configure your field display of a single field completely individually in a referencing entity display.
Field formatter from view display (field_formatter_from_view_display)
Display one field from the referenced entity exactly like it is configured in its own entity display mode, which is selectable.
Usage example: Configure your field display for example in media entities and reuse single fields in referencing entities.
Field linker (field_link)
Link field formatter, which will wrap output of any other formatter with a link to the parent entity. Field linker is available for all field types, not just entity reference fields.
Usage example: Field linker formatter is for example helpful in teaser view modes to link to the full display.
Installation
- Download [Field Formatter](https://www.drupal.org/project/field_formatter) from [Drupal.org](https://www.drupal.org/node/2328797/release).
- Install it in the usual way.
Versions:
8.x-1.2 is old but gold. Presumably it's the last 8.x-1.x release. All new features, changes and major bug fixes go into 3.x!
The latest 8.x-1.x-dev release contains severals updates and improvements. Please do not use the dev version in production (use latest stable instead) and provide helpful feedback in the issues for the latest dev release.
8.x-2.0 is deprecated.
3.x is based on 8.x-1.x-dev / 8.x-2.x and adds Drupal 9 support. If you were using 8.x-1.x-dev or 8.x-2.x you may want to upgrade! When upgrading from 8.x-1.2 stable, please ensure everything works fine and take a backup before!
