Entity Collection computes ordered lists of content entities, for example related articles for a node. A collection is a configuration entity: the entity type it returns, a limit and an ordered list of source plugins. Lists are computed on use, not stored.
Two sources are included: curated (targets of an entity reference field) and shared_field_value (entities sharing reference targets with the viewed entity). Sources are combined as a chain or with Reciprocal Rank Fusion.

Versions
4.x is a new module. The 7.x and 8.x-3.x branches are an unrelated earlier module, no longer supported, with no upgrade path to 4.x. Thanks to their maintainers: mnlund, fabsor, pontus_nilsson, balintbrews, timbrandin, efpapado and esolitos.
