The official module has the benefit of being developed by the same people who made Ecwid itself, while the unofficial module offers more features and tighter integration with Drupal.

Further, the unofficial module is written by veterans of Drupal development who are involved in the Drupal community, and will be happy to accept your patches, issues and feature requests.
