DokAudit checks the PDF files of a Drupal site for accessibility (PDF/UA-1, WCAG 2.2, BITV 2.0 / EN 301 549) and replaces them in place with the remediated version. File ID, URI and all references stay the same; the original is backed up and can be restored with one click or Drush. Editors no longer have to download every PDF, have it fixed and upload it again by hand.
Features
- Finds the PDFs in the file system and submits them to DokAudit; new and replaced uploads are queued automatically.
- Replaces a file only if its accessibility score really improves (configurable minimum gain).
- Original files are backed up and can be restored per file.
- Check-only mode: see the state of all PDFs without changing anything on the site.
- Folder filters (only these folders / never touch), size limit, uploads per cron run.
- Seals per document (PDF/UA-1, WCAG 2.2, PDF/A-2a) and a link to the full report.
- Cron and Drush:
drush dokaudit:sync,drush dokaudit:restore <fid>. - German translation included.
Post-Installation
Go to Configuration → Media → DokAudit and enter the API URL and an API key from the DokAudit Hub. The overview is under Content → DokAudit (permission “Administer DokAudit”). Synchronisation runs with every cron run, via the “Sync now” button or Drush.
Additional Requirements
This module integrates the third-party commercial service DokAudit. Checking and remediation run on the DokAudit servers (Germany, ISO/IEC 27001) and require a paid account and an API key; usage is billed in credits (pricing). Only the PDF files themselves are transferred. Nothing is sent before an API key is configured. An on-premises installation (Docker) is available on request; the API URL is configurable.
Drupal 10.3 or 11, PHP 8.1+. No libraries beyond Drupal core.
