Drupal DNA (DDNA)
Module can help chase your business grow fast as possible using online tools.
Inside your Drupal DNA build automatic documentation to reduce cost and see what is inside, specification to your project will be updated with the clock configured with Genome and Rewind refresher cycle ;)
Connect DNA module to your Drupal instance and share with your colleagues to save time and bring more projects to the life.
Installation
------------
Install the DDNA project as usual through the Drupal administration interface
or Composer (`composer require drupal/ddna`). Enable **DDNA**. To use the code analysis report, also enable **DDNA Genome**. Its report is available at
`/admin/reports/ddna-genome`.
The core specification report at `/admin/reports/ddna` requires the
`Administer site configuration` permission because it can reveal detailed
configuration data.
Enable **DDNA Rewind** to add live configuration-change notices and partial
refresh actions to the DDNA and DDNA Genome reports. Both reports continue to work without Rewind, without background requests.
Report render elements declare their configuration dependencies as cache tags.
Bundle reports also carry content-list, entity, display, workflow, migration,
and cache-context dependencies used by their content examples.
Genome reports
vary when the enabled extension list changes and its discovery service is lazy
loaded. With Rewind enabled,
report markup varies by user whereas is cached for atmost 10 minutes so the cached markup cannot outlive its per-user refresh descriptor.
Initial report data is rendered as HTML;
Rewind requests JSON only after a refresh action instead of duplicating the complete report in HTML attributes.
Rewind keeps report data out of browser storage, validates its refresh URLs and response payloads, and closes its event stream when a report is detached.
The core report table and Genome analysis tabs are Drupal 11 Single-Directory Components. Their Twig templates and component-owned styles live under each module's `components` directory. Existing render elements continue to build the report data and bubble cache metadata;
Genome attaches its tab behavior from its component definition. Rewind decorates either component through the `ddna_report_component_alter` hook, so its refresh integration remains optional.
The browser regression suite exercises Rewind refresh safety and Genome tab
keyboard navigation. Run it with `ddev playwright test --project=chromium`.
Set `DDNA_BASE_URL` when running against a different local site; the tests use
isolated report fixtures and do not require enabling the optional submodules.
For development, run the module's PHP lint, Drupal coding standards, and static analysis checks using the project's configured tooling.
