Provides flexible countdown/countup timers for days, hours, minutes, and
seconds until or since a target event. You can configure the display to show
only days, days+hours, or full DHMS.

New in 2.0.0-alpha2: sub-modules for no-code placement:

• Countdown Block (countdown_block): add a configurable Countdown block to any region.
• Countdown Field (countdown_field): attach a countdown field to content types and render it via formatters.

Version 2.0.0-alpha2 — Pluggable core with Block & Field

The 2.x branch introduces a pluggable architecture that unifies multiple
countdown libraries and centralizes how assets are loaded (local vs CDN,
provider selection, extensions, and theme/path conditions). Alpha2 adds
no-code placements via Block and Field.

• Multi-library support: FlipClock, FlipDown, PQINA Tick/Flip, and the core timer.
• Centralized asset control: local/CDN, jsDelivr or unpkg, dynamic version/path.
• Per-library settings with live preview in the admin UI.
• RTL-ready and accessibility-minded (labels, separators, contrast).
• New in alpha2: countdown_block and countdown_field sub-modules for no-code usage.

Roadmap: polish Block/Field UX, Views integration, theme presets,
and settings import/export.

Heads-up: In 2.0.0-alpha2 the Block and Field sub-modules are experimental and APIs may change before stable. If you need a battle-tested option today, the stable 8.x-1.x branch remains available.
