# Content Review Due

Content goes stale quietly: pricing pages, legal notices, FAQs and contact
details are published once and forgotten. **Content Review Due** gives every
content type a review interval, flags content that is past its review date,
and emails the people responsible a digest of what needs attention.

For a full description of the module, visit the
[project page](https://www.drupal.org/project/content_review_due).

## Features

- **Review interval per content type**, in months (for example 6 months for
pages, 12 months for articles).
- **Three statuses**: *Up to date*, *Review soon* (configurable warning
period) and *Needs review*.
- **"Mark as reviewed" without saving the content**: review data is stored in
its own table, so no revision is created and the "Updated" date of the
content does not change.
- **Review report** at *Content » Review*, filterable by status, with counts
and one-click "Mark as reviewed" operations.
- **Review tab** on each node showing the last review, the reviewer and the
next due date.
- **Badge** available as a pseudo-field in *Manage display*, in the node edit
form sidebar, and as a Views field and filter (add it to the administration
Content view if you like).
- **Email digests** (daily or weekly) sent through Cron and the Queue API to
each author, to a list of content managers, or both. Each recipient gets a
single email listing all their content.
- Optionally, saving content counts as a review. Drafts created with Content
Moderation do not reset the review date.

## Requirements

This module requires Drupal 10.3 or later and the core Node module.

## Installation

Install as you would normally install a contributed Drupal module. For further
information, see
[Installing Drupal Modules](https://www.drupal.org/docs/extending-drupal/installing-drupal-modules).

```
composer require drupal/content_review_due
drush en content_review_due
```

## Configuration

1. Go to *Administration » Configuration » Content authoring » Content
review* (`/admin/config/content/review-due`).
2. Enable reviews for the content types you want and set their interval.
Existing content is scheduled from its last modification date.
3. Choose who receives the email digests and how often.
4. Grant permissions at *People » Permissions*:
- *Administer content review settings*
- *View content review status*: see badges, the report and the Review tab.
- *Mark content as reviewed*: also requires permission to edit the content.
5. Optionally, display the *Review status* badge on your content in *Structure
» Content types » [type] » Manage display*.

Digests are sent during cron runs. When running cron from Drush, pass `--uri`
so the links in emails point to your site.

## Usage

Editors open *Content » Review* to see what needs attention. After checking a
page they either edit it (saving resets the review date when the option is
enabled) or click **Mark as reviewed** if the content is still accurate.

## Drush commands

- `drush content-review-due:list` (`crd-list`): list content due now or soon.
- `drush content-review-due:digest` (`crd-digest`): queue digests immediately,
then send them with `drush queue:run content_review_due_digest`.
