Consent Mode

A simple module that inserts a 'default' Google Consent Mode v2 compatible script into the site with access 'denied' for all consent choices. It is important to note that this module adds supplementary functionality to cookie management modules that do not provide Google Consent Mode default values but that manage the updated values. If you do not have a cookie management module that can update these values then you should not make use of this module since it will potentially block access to content on your site that is dependent on cookies and there will be no way for the user to update their cookie preferences.

Features

The module aims to insert a Google Consent Mode script at the top of the head element and to add the default values to the dataLayer. The default settings can be updated via the module configuration, the 'denied' values will be applied by default.

Post-Installation

Out of the box this module will be active and will add 'denied' access as the default value for all consent choices. Functionality will be added to allow users to enable or disable the script from being applied and to select which consent choices should be 'granted' or 'denied' by default.

Additional Requirements

A cookie management module such as (but not limited to) Cookiebot is required to allow users to change their cookie preferences be able to update consent choices.
