Acquia Content Optimization

Acquia Content Optimization brings Writing Assistant, powered by Conductor, into Drupal — actionable SEO/AEO insights that make creating optimized content for marketing teams easier.

Writing Assistant is a capability of Acquia Content Optimization powered by Conductor. It helps marketing and content teams optimize their digital content with actionable SEO/AEO insights, directly within the Drupal editing experience. The same Writing Assistant available in Acquia Source CMS now runs on any Drupal site.

Credentials

Writing Assistant requires a Conductor account. Generate credentials in Conductor under Integrations / API in the dashboard menu, then store them in Drupal using the Key module and select the key at /admin/config/services/conductor.

An API token (Bearer) is the recommended method; an API key and shared secret are also supported for legacy accounts. Full setup steps are in the module README.

Capability Description

This Drupal Module makes the AI Writing Assistant appear as a React pop-up within the Drupal UI. A user will be able to

• Enter up to five keywords that represent a researched topic and want to see recommendations for. These keywords will determine what kinds of guidance is provided about your content. Click Evaluate to see the monthly search volume for each topic. Modify/swap out keywords accordingly.
• Based on the keywords from the first tab, a list of competitor pages will appear on the Competitor tab. Select a minimum of 10 competitors’ pages and remove any irrelevant pages for better results. Content guidance comes from top competitors’ pages ranking for your keywords.
• In the Guidance tab,fine-tune the following aspects of the content draft. This helps guide the Writing Assistant as it reviews the content and as it generates content.
  • What appears by default is Writing Assistant’s recommendations for your topic:
    • Objective. Define what you want your audience to know or do after reading.
    • Audience. Describe your target readers to help tailor your tone and depth.
    • Journey Stage. Select where your readers are in their process to shape how you present information.
    • Content Type. Choose a format that best serves your readers’ intent.
  • Modify Writing Assistant’s recommendations by clicking “Customize… “
• In the Content Outline tab, enter a Title tag and Meta description for the page. Use AI-suggestions for each by clicking on the blue lightbulb icon to generate suggestions. A list of up to 5 options appears. Select one or enter your own.
  • In the Content window, if starting from a blank slate and not sure where to start, use the AI menu icon (lightbulb) to generate a content outline or draft.
  • Continue to edit with the following options:
    • Replace with generated outline
    • Replace with generated draft
    • Expand selection
    • Shorten selection
    • Or directly typing in the change.
  • Content Score provides a simple way to understand the draft’s quality which is calculated on both a broad and granular level across two core signals:
    • Topical Coverage: This dimension assesses whether your content comprehensively addresses the target topic. It evaluates the inclusion of relevant subtopics, the appropriate use of key terminology in the draft’s body copy, and the extent to which the content answers relevant questions (such as those found in People Also Ask results or generated by AI).
    • Intent Alignment: This dimension evaluates how well the content satisfies the specific needs and objectives of the target audience for a given topic. It considers whether the content fulfills the user’s intent and is appropriate for their level of understanding and stage in the customer journey.
  • Finally click the Copy Text button and paste into your CMS.

Upgrading

This Drupal Module is available in both the 1.x and 2.x branches. If you are on 1.x, upgrade the module to move to 2.x.
Acquia Source CMS customers are provisioned separately and do not need to install anything.
