Cloudflare Markdown for Agents Preview

This module adds the same type of Human|Machine toggle to public pages you can see on sites like https://www.cloudflare.com/connect/. When using this in combination with Cloudflare's Markdown for Agents feature, clicking Machine will show a human user the Markdown version of the page many AI agents are seeing by including Accept: 'text/markdown' and UserAgent: 'DrupalMarkdownPreviewBot/1.0' in the request. Anyone can see the markdown version of a page using curl -H "Accept: text/markdown" https://example.com, but that requires CLI. The module is intended to get the option to toggle between Human and Machine in front of users browsing public pages of a site to increase there awareness and understanding of how AI is consuming content.

I wrote this module for the same reason that many sites enabled Responsive Preview during the desktop->mobile transition. That transition was difficult for universities where the target audience for many sites (teenagers) transitioned much earlier than the people building and buying sites. Responsive Preview gave university marketing teams a way to see the site how their target audience was likely looking at their site even if they weren't doing the majority of their web browsing on mobile yet.

We're already seeing the same type of transition from browsing .edu sites with a mobile device to consuming summaries of the sites with AI... but the mobile->AI change is happening at 10x the pace of the desktop->mobile transition. This will only accelerate as OpenAI rolls out College Planner for teenagers. The design and branding content is wrapped in on a university's site will matter FAR less than how the content is consumed by AI.
