This module provides a site administrator the ability to log users out after a specified time of inactivity.
It is highly customisable and includes role-specific "site policies" to enforce logout.

Features

  • Different timeouts based on role
  • Disabling of timeouts based on role
  • Permission for users to set their own timeout
  • Includes some JS mechanisms to keep users logged in even if multiple tabs are open or if the user is working on a form for a long period of time.
  • Includes developer hooks to allow users to remain logged in, depending on your own project-specific requirements
  • Optional integration with Javascript Timer

Upgrading to 3.x

Please update to the latest 2.0.x (2.0.3) or 8.x-1.x (8.x-1.8) releases, which are the same.
The update hooks in these releases will remove the need for js_cookie. The composer requirement for this is removed in the 3.x version.

Module Versions

The 2.0.x and 8.x-1.x versions are the same. Most users should upgrade to version 2.x. Only users who have a downstream dependency on autologout 8.x-1.x should use the older release.

The 7.x-5.x branch is discontinued.
Only use the 7.x-4.x branch releases for Drupal 7.

Recommended modules

  • Session Limit - For limiting the maximum number of logged in sessions a user can have.
  • Password Policy - For enforcing password length, complexity and renewal.
