This module allows administrators to automatically or manually transfer content ownership from inactive users to active users. It helps maintain content continuity and prevents orphaned content by reassigning ownership of nodes, comments, files, and taxonomy terms.

Author Content Ownership Transfer Workflow

Author Content Ownership Transfer Workflow helps administrators to automatically and manually transfer content ownership from inactive users to active users. This ensures content continuity, improves editorial workflow management, and prevents orphaned content across the site.

This module is especially useful for large editorial teams, multi-author platforms, and organizations where users frequently become inactive or leave.

Use Cases

This module is useful when:

  • Authors leave the organization
  • Editorial accounts become inactive
  • Content ownership must be reassigned automatically
  • Site administrators manage large multi-author platforms
  • Content continuity must be maintained without manual cleanup

How it works

The module monitors user inactivity and automatically transfers ownership of their content to a fallback user after a configurable number of inactive days.
Administrators can also manually transfer content between users from the administration interface.
Ownership transfer includes:

  • Nodes
  • Comments (optional extension-ready support)
  • Files
  • Taxonomy

Configuration

After enabling the module, configure settings at:
/admin/config/ownership-transfer-bulk
