AI Provider: GenMagic

GenMagic Provider adds [GenMagic](https://genmagic.co) as a provider to the [AI module](https://www.drupal.org/project/ai). GenMagic gives you text, image and speech models of many vendors behind one API key and one prepaid balance. The model lists are read live from GenMagic, so new models show up in your dropdowns without a module update.

**This module needs a paid third-party service.** You need a GenMagic account and API key. A free key with starter credit is at https://genmagic.co/get-api-key?utm_source=drupal&utm_medium=module . After the starter credit, every generation is billed to your GenMagic balance at the price of the model you pick. The price per generation of every model is listed at https://genmagic.co/models and is shown next to each model in the dropdowns.

### Features

- Chat with text models, including streaming, tools (function calling), structured responses, JSON output and image vision. Each variant only lists the models that can do it.
- Text to image.
- Image to image: a picture and a prompt that describes the change.
- Text to speech.
- Model lists read live from GenMagic and cached for an hour, with a "Refresh model list" button. If GenMagic is down, the last list stays in use.
- Each model in a dropdown shows its price.
- The API key is kept with the Key module.
- GenMagic's own error messages are shown as they are. For example, when the balance is too low, the message says how to top up.

### Post-installation

1. Get a key at https://genmagic.co/get-api-key?utm_source=drupal&utm_medium=module and store it with the Key module (`/admin/config/system/keys`).
2. Open `/admin/config/ai/providers/genmagic`, select the key and save. The module checks the key with GenMagic first, which costs nothing.
3. Open `/admin/config/ai/settings` and choose GenMagic models for the operation types you use.

### What is sent to GenMagic

Your site sends requests to https://genmagic.co/api/v1 and nowhere else. A request holds what the AI module passes on (chat messages, prompts, the text to speak, or the picture and prompt of an image to image call), your API key, and a header that says the call came from this module and its version. GenMagic passes prompts on to the vendor that runs the model you chose. The request for the model list carries no key and no content. Nothing else is sent: no site URL, no user data, no statistics. Read GenMagic's [privacy policy](https://genmagic.co/legal/privacy) and [terms](https://genmagic.co/legal/terms), and keep personal data out of prompts unless you are allowed to send it.

### Not included

- Video. GenMagic makes video as a job that takes minutes. The AI module has no text to video operation, and its image to video operation passes no prompt and expects the video in the same request, so it does not fit.
- Music, embeddings, moderation and speech to text. The AI module has no music operation, and GenMagic does not offer the others.

### Additional requirements

- Drupal 10.5 or 11.2 and later, the AI module 1.5 or later, the Key module, PHP 8.1 or later.
- A GenMagic API key.

### When to use it

Use it when you want models of several vendors behind one key and one bill. If you only use one vendor, that vendor's own provider module is simpler.
