AI Content Review

Security covered Under active development 70 sites

Part of the AI ecosystem · 343 projects

This module helps automate the review of content by using AI to check for quality, accuracy, and adherence to guidelines. It simplifies the content moderation process by flagging potential issues before human review. This is useful for content managers needing to ensure high-quality and consistent content across their Drupal site.

AI Content Review runs configurable, AI-assessed quality checks against your content before it goes out the door. Site builders map criteria such as tone, clarity or SEO to entity types and bundles; editors trigger a review from a dedicated tab and get a score, a plain-language explanation and suggestions they can apply straight to the field.

Features

  • Review Rules: config entities that map one or more criteria to an entity type and its bundles. Multiple rules can target the same bundle; the Review tab shows the union of their criteria.
  • Per-criterion scoring: a 0–100 score, an info/warning/critical severity and a plain-language explanation, with pass and warning thresholds you set per criterion.
  • Evaluation examples: scored example groups that calibrate what a criterion should reward or flag, before it ever sees real content.
  • Field-level suggestions: each finding can propose a replacement value with a side-by-side diff. Apply it to the entity directly, or accept it as informational for a manual edit.
  • In-page review panel: a score pill in the page's top bar opens a panel that runs the criteria, lists suggestions to triage, and drops a pin next to the exact sentence on the page each suggestion targets.
  • Append-only Review Records: every run is stored and nothing the AI produced is edited or deleted afterwards; a full history is kept per entity.
  • A content listing built for review: a dedicated AI content review tab under Content shows a segmented pass/warning/fail pill per row, sortable by aggregate score and filterable by outcome.
  • Reusable Views handlers: the same AI review field and outcome filter can be added to any Content-based view.
  • Extensible by plugin: add new scoring logic with a ReviewCriterion plugin, or new suggestion types with a ReviewSuggestion plugin.

Reviewing from the page

A score pill sits in the page's own top bar, next to Edit, so an editor does not have to go looking for the review. It reads the aggregate score once every criterion has run, and shows a placeholder until then.

Clicking the pill opens a panel over the page: run the criteria, then open Review suggestions to triage the findings without leaving the view. Each card carries its rationale and, where it proposes a replacement, a pin appears next to the exact sentence on the page that suggestion is about.

Running a review from the tab

Editors can also open the dedicated Review tab, run a criterion, and see the result inline once it completes, no page reload required. A failing score comes with an explanation quoting the content and a suggested rewrite, shown as a diff against the current value.

Reviewing content at scale

The AI content review listing rolls every criterion's latest result into one pill per row. Hover it to see each criterion's score against its pass and warning thresholds without opening the entity.

The bundled Agent-based criterion plugin delegates scoring to a Drupal AI Agent, so it needs the AI Agents module and at least one configured AI provider. Other criterion types can be added without that dependency via the ReviewCriterion plugin system.

Installation

composer require drupal/ai_content_review

drush en ai_content_review

Then create at least one Review Rule at Administration » AI » Tools & Automation » AI Content Review before the Review tab appears on any entity.
