AdminLTE 4 - Drupal Application / SaaS Theme

AdminLTE 4 is an application theme for Drupal.

Build intranets, dashboards or SaaS-style app front-ends with the popular AdminLTE 4 UI: Bootstrap 5.3, vanilla JavaScript (no jQuery), and light & dark colour modes. Every asset is bundled locally — no CDN required.

It also works as a Drupal administration theme, but that's a secondary use case. If you want a dedicated admin experience, Gin is Drupal's purpose-built admin theme — AdminLTE is at its best powering the front end of an application.

Features

Requirements

• Drupal 10.3+ or 11.
• The Bootstrap5 base theme (drupal/bootstrap5 ^4.0) — Composer pulls it in automatically; it supplies Drupal core-markup styling. AdminLTE still bundles its own Bootstrap build.

Installation

While the theme is in beta, request it explicitly so Composer doesn't skip the pre-release:

composer require 'drupal/adminlte:^1.0@beta'
drush theme:enable adminlte

Then manage it at Appearance (/admin/appearance). To use it only for the back end, set it as the Administration theme.

Navigation: front-end vs. admin

Two navigation blocks are placed in the sidebar on install, so you can pick what fits:

• Main navigation — your site's own menu. Use this when AdminLTE is your default (front-end) theme. Primary use case.
• Administration — Drupal's admin menu as a collapsible treeview with per-section icons. Use this when AdminLTE is the administration theme.

Optional integrations

• UI Patterns 2 — surfaces the bundled SDC components in Layout Builder, Views and field formatters.
• UI Icons — exposes the bundled Bootstrap Icons pack in Drupal's icon pickers.
